Chippers to Charlton?

England’s The Sun newspaper has today reported that Charlton are keen to sign Socceroo Scott Chipperfield following his “impressive World Cup”. The Sun claims Charlton have offered FC Basle £400,000 for the versatile left-footer however Basle want over £1,000,000.

The report (of course) refers to Chippers’ stint as a Wollongong bus driver – a story which has led to cult status amongst Australian fans.

Australians have known about Chipperfield’s talent for years despite the fact he plays in the rarely reported Swiss League alongside another Socceroo, Mile Sterjovski.

Chipperfield has been a fantastic player for the Socceroos in the last few years making the overused moniker “Mr. Reliable” his own.

Comfortable at left-back or left-midfield, Crazy Guus even used him as a make-shift left-side centre-back against Uruguay and Japan and he performed admirably. At 31 Chippers’ run to the top has come late however the Soccer Squirrel has no doubt he can cut it in the Premier League.

Let’s hope he does make the move to England (or even Italy or Spain) so that Aussie audiences can see more of the Socceroos’ cult hero.

Charlton have now signed Djimi Traore from Liverpool to fill the hole at left-back so Charlton's interest in Chippers may now have passed.

I'm looking around for exactly what this blog says it is - a blog about Football, with a focus on the game in Australia. Are you still going? If not, where should I go?

He really did a great Cup. We don't see that many Socceroos in Sweden. Covic plays for the rivaling Stockholm club Hammarby. My club, AIK, used to have an aussie player, Luke Casserly, that did a few good seasons.

Righto. In desperation I've begun a football blog of my own. I remain very interested in "The best opinion based soccer blog which focuses on current issues within the world game. There is a specific focus on the development of the game in Australia, the A-League and the Socceroos." If you guys get going again, I'm certainly not interested in competing.

Go the Roar!!!

Hi matey and blog buddies, enjoyed the blog most interesting. Not sure how well you are doing in driving more traffic to your blog but If you are interested in promoting your site and getting more visitors (aren't we all??) I would definitely recommend the free Link Referral Program.

I have a website featuring skiing holidays amongst other stuff and after trying every seo software/program on the net I got tipped off by an IT techi mate that the Link Referral Program was the best - more importantly it's free!!

The signup process was quick and before long my hits increased dramatically. Consequently my affiliate sales commissions and business sales went through the roof PLUS my website increased in google ranking which was an added bonus!!

If you didn't need this advice then I am sorry but you did have anonymous posting enabled on your blog. If anyone else has any good ideas for driving more traffic to blogs/websites then please share with your online business blog buddies. Ta ;-)
